Examination Policy

At RPS Sojat, our examination system is designed to ensure academic excellence, fairness, and the holistic development of students. The assessments aim to enhance conceptual understanding, critical thinking, and analytical skills, while maintaining a learning environment rooted in integrity and discipline.


1. Examination Schedule
  • Examination dates and timings will be announced well in advance through official channels such as the school website, notice boards, and circulars.

  • Students must adhere strictly to the schedule. Any changes will be communicated promptly.


2. Types of Assessments

To ensure continuous and comprehensive evaluation, the academic year includes the following types of assessments:

a. Class Tests
  • Conducted after the completion of every lesson.

  • Help reinforce lesson-wise understanding regularly.

b. Periodic/Unit Tests
  • Two Unit Tests before the Half-Yearly Examination.

  • One Unit Test after the Half-Yearly Examination.

c. Half-Yearly Examination
  • Held mid-session.

  • Covers a cumulative syllabus taught up to that point.

d. Final/Annual Examination
  • Conducted at the end of the academic year.

  • Evaluates complete syllabus coverage and overall learning.


3. Question Paper Design

Question papers are thoughtfully designed to assess a variety of cognitive skills. Formats include:

  • Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)

  • Fill in the Blanks

  • True/False Statements

  • Match the Following

  • One-Word Answers

  • Pictorial and Graphic Questions

  • Diagram-Based Questions

  • Descriptive Questions: Very Short, Short, Long, and Very Long Answers

All papers are prepared by subject teachers and cross-verified by the Principal or qualified examiners to ensure accuracy, fairness, and quality.


4. Examination Conduct
  • Students must report to the examination venue at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start time.

  • Mobile phones, smartwatches, and other unauthorized electronic devices are strictly prohibited.

  • Any form of cheating, plagiarism, or academic misconduct will lead to strict disciplinary action as per school rules.


5. Attendance Requirements
  • Regular attendance is essential. Students must maintain required attendance to be eligible for exams.

  • Absences due to illness or valid reasons must be supported by a medical certificate or appropriate documentation.


6. Examination Security
  • Question papers and answer sheets are handled with complete confidentiality.

  • Examination halls are monitored to prevent any form of malpractice.


7. Evaluation and Grading
  • All answer sheets are evaluated objectively and impartially by qualified examiners.

  • Grades and feedback are shared with students promptly to support their academic progress.


8. Special Considerations
  • Students with documented disabilities or special needs may receive appropriate accommodations upon prior approval.

  • Requests for special consideration due to unforeseen circumstances must be submitted in writing for administrative review.


9. Appeals and Grievances
